The Joy of Collecting: The Strishock Print Collection

Baumann, Gustave

Gustave Baumann (1881-1971) was a printmaker and painter. He was born in Germany in 1881 and came to Chicago with him family as a youth. He studied art at Kunstgewerbeschule in Munich and later at the Art Institute of Chicago. He moved to Santa Fe, New Mexico in 1918 and worked with the Works Progress Administration beginning in the early 1930s.
