How do I return an Ebook Central ebook?

Open Adobe Digital Editions or Bluefire Reader, right-click the book you want to return, then select "Return Borrowed Item."

Downloading from Ebook Central

  1. Locate the ebook you want in SearchBox and click the link. If you are off campus, you have to log in:

    off-campus login
     
  2. You will be taken directly to the ebook. Click the "Sign In" link at the top right of the page.
     
  3. Sign in to Ebook Central.
    1. If you have an Ebook Central account, enter your username and password, then click the "Sign In" button.
    2. If you do not have an Ebook Central account, click the "Create an account" link. After you create the account, close the window and return to the book.

     
  4. Click the Download button.
     
  5. You will be asked what device you are using (Laptop Desktop, iOS, Android, Other) and whether you are using a public computer or your own computer.
     
    1. Laptop Desktop: you will need the free software Adobe Digital Editions and a free Adobe ID.
      1. If you are using your own computer, make sure you have Adobe Digital Editions, then click "Done with this step."
      2. If you are using a library computer, the software is already installed, so click "I Have Adobe Digital Editions."
    2. iOS or Android (including Kindle): you will need the free software Bluefire Reader and a free Adobe ID.
      1. If you are using your own computer, download Bluefire Reader:
        1. Bluefire Reader for iOS is available in the App Store: http://itunes.com/apps/bluefirereader.
        2. Bluefire Reader for Android is available in Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.bluefirereader.
        3. Bluefire Reader for Kindle Fire is available here: http://www.bluefirereader.com/blog/?p=158.
      2. If you are using a library computer, you will not be able to download Bluefire Reader.
    3. Other: you will not be able to download the ebook.

     
  6. Click "Download Your Book."
