About this Exhibit

Description: Exhibit Poster

Elections come and go. Key issues or concerns often carry through, though specifics vary depending on the date and state of affairs. This exhibit highlights some past views on key issues effecting elections, and invites you to consider how these themes affect you today.

Every vote matters and your vote counts. Consider:

  • 1991: a Virginia state House seat was determined by one vote out of almost 13,000 cast.
  • 2000: George W. Bush won Florida by a 537-vote margin, in which almost 6 million votes were cast, and defeated Al Gore in the presidential election.
  • 2002: a Connecticut state House seat was determined by one vote out of more than 6,400 cast.

This exhibit was on display in the May Gallery in Fall 2024.
