Citation Managers

Citing your sources is easier than ever thanks to citation management applications. For a continually updated list of citation management software, Wikipedia has an extensive article to help you compare and find the application that's right for you. We recommend the following applications for members of the Catholic University community:

  • Refworks
You can sign into the new Refworks with your CUA credentials and export citations directly from the Library Searchbox to your personal library. Refworks is owned by ProQuest, which means it is also integrated with any ProQuest database, like ProQuest Research Library or ProQuest Dissertations & Theses Global.

  • EndNote
EndNote is another proprietary citation manager. After a free trial, you can purchase a license with a student discount.

  • Zotero
Zotero is a free and open-source citation manager that integrates with many browsers for easy importation of sources. Zotero offers 30MB of free storage; additional storage for PDFs is available for a fee.
