In this article several bishops and lawyers associated with the NCWC are mentioned. In addition, the author extends the thanks of all Catholics to the American Bishops for their support.

 Questions:

  • What do you think are the "true American principles" that the Bishops defended by supporting opposition to the Oregon School Law?
  • Explain why the involvement of the National Catholic Welfare Conference was presented as essential to the overturning of the Oregon School Law.
