Questions:

As you read the document, reflect on the following questions:

  • What are the specific reasons Father Markoe gives to justify the renaming of the FCC journal form The Chronicle to the Interracial Review?
  • What is the general tone of the letter? Please provide specific excerpts from it to support your answer.
  • Father Markoe stated that the title of the journal should be "descriptive of the journal's character." Explain why he felt the Interracial Review was a fitting title. Considering what you have learned about the FCC, think of at least one alternate title for the journal and explain why you think it would be appropriate.
