How to search the canon law literature by canon

The following databases provide the ability to search canon law literature by specific canon:

1. Canon Law Abstracts

  Access: Canon Law Room BV102 .C227 (1958-present); CD-ROM in Room 314 (1958–2006); online (2006-present except 2 most recent years) .

      How to Search: entries are arranged by canon number. It is best to search by keyword or phrases. Use the site: command to search in Google. Example: site:https://canonlawabstracts.uk canon 300  

2. GIDDC: Bibliografia Canonistica (Associazione Canonistica Italiana)

      How to Search: Click on Ricerca avanzata and select Ricerca per intervallo di canoni or Ricerca per singolo canone  

3. Index Canonicus

      How to Search: Select to search by Canon law passages. Enter the desired codex followed by the desired canon. For c. 517 of the CIC/1983, enter "cic83 517". This works analogously with the CCEO (cceo) and the CIC/1917 (cic17). 

4. Recension Canonique

       How to Search: Articles are organized by canon—browse the list to find commentary on the desired canon.
