How do I download an e-book on my Kindle Fire?

  1. Create a free Adobe account here
  2. Tap the Apps icon on the Kindle Fire home screen to go to the Amazon Appstore. Download a reader app for your Kindle Fire. Some free examples are Adobe Reader, Aldiko Book Reader, and Bluefire Reader
    1. If you can't find the Bluefire Reader, read these installation instructions
  3. Open the reader app and use your Adobe ID to authorize your Kindle Fire
  4. Use the web browser on your Kindle Fire to navigate to the e-book platform. You can read downloading instructions for every e-book platform here
  5. When you download the e-book, it will go to the reader app

How do I transfer an e-book from my computer to my Kindle Fire?

Before you transfer the book, you must complete some steps:

  1. Create a free Adobe account here
  2. Tap the Apps icon on the Kindle Fire home screen to go to the Amazon Appstore. Download a reader app for your Kindle Fire. Some free examples are Adobe Reader, Aldiko Book Reader, and Bluefire Reader

  3. Open the reader app and use your Adobe ID to authorize your Kindle Fire

Now you are ready to transfer the book from your computer to your Kindle Fire. There are three ways to transfer an e-book from your computer to your Kindle Fire.

  1. Use the Send to Kindle application. Click here for instructions
  2. E-mail the HTML or PDF to your Send-to-Kindle e-mail address. If you want to convert the document to Kindle format, type "convert" in the subject line. Click here for instructions
  3. Connect your Kindle Fire to your computer via USB cable (sold separately). Transfer the document to the "documents" folder on your Kindle Fire. Click here for instructions
